Leadership That Fights For Northwest Louisiana
Cedric Bradford Glover is the 47th person and 1st African American to serve as mayor of Shreveport, the third largest city in Louisiana. His term limited tenure as mayor represents the lowest eight year stretch of homicides and other violent crimes ever recorded in the city’s history. The extraordinary, community driven law enforcement efforts organized and led by Glover and his team were recognized by both the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the inaugural 2013 U.S. Department of Justice’s “Excellence In Policing Symposium.”
In April of 2011 Glover’s administration passed the largest bond proposal in Shreveport history. The parks and recreation portions of the 2011 bond proposal served to build upon, enhance and expand the community centers and recreational facilities that Glover worked diligently to include in the 1996 bond proposal. A proposition that was greatly shaped and influenced by Glover while he served as chairman of the Shreveport City Council.
Glover started both the Mayor’s Collegiate Internship and Summer Youth Employment Programs, efforts that have positively impacted thousands of college and high school students over the last seventeen years. As a former and current state legislator, Glover has authored and passed numerous pieces of paradigm shifting legislation ranging from compensation for the wrongfully convicted, to making Louisiana the first Deep South state to decriminalize marijuana.
During the recently concluded 2023 legislative sessions Glover secured over $158 million dollars in funding for projects and programs in his region, including $75 million for the new Northwest Louisiana State Building in downtown Shreveport and $41 million dollars for improvements to the Shreveport Healthcare Innovation Corridor.
Glover is married to Veronica Stinson Glover. He is the former Regional President of Professional Temporaries, Inc. and is the current Principal of King Cooper Development, LLC.

Northwest Louisiana is at a critical crossroads. The last decade has seen rapidly dwindling population and escalating crime. Our children are now in Dallas, Atlanta, Houston or some other more prosperous region, with few prospects of ever returning.
Just a decade ago when I left the mayor’s office, things were different. Shreveport was in the midst of its lowest crime rates ever with homicides and other violent crimes at all time record lows. We were the 3rd best place in the country to make movies and rated by WalletHub as the best place in America to start a business.
With the right leadership and a collective effort, we can be better, greater and safer again. Instead of attacking, undermining and running off our Millennials and Generation Z, I want to be a part of the reason why more stay and others come back to Northwest Louisiana. That is why I am asking for your prayers, support and vote to be the next State Senator for District 39.
Yours In Service,
Cedric B. Glover
